Releases

A Release in Scrum is a version or delivery of the product. It is a significant milestone that marks the completion of a set of functionalities or improvements that have been developed. In summary, a Release represents a version ready to be delivered to the user or client.

In DoneTonic, you can keep track of your improvements made in each version in the Release section.

To navigate to the Release of your project, simply go to the sidebar menu and click on Release.

On the left, you will see your completed PBIs ready to be assigned to a new Release. On the right, you have the calendar that allows you to view the implementation dates, and below that, the list of your Releases:

How to create a new Release:

On the right side of the screen, you can find the button to create a new Release:

To include a PBI in a Release, simply drag and drop them into the corresponding Release.

You can also click on the arrow of the Release to expand it and view all its PBIs.

Closed Releases

If you change the Release status to a closed one (Done by default), it will move it to the closed Releases area, just below the rest. You can show/hide this area by clicking on the visibility button right below the calendar. The implementation date will automatically be set when the status is changed.

Calendar

Both implementation dates and estimated implementation dates will be shown in the calendar, in green and blue respectively. You can click on them to get more information on the release/s shown for that day.
